This conference session investigated bilingual and multilingual acquisition in different populations and varied settings from interdisciplinary perspectives. The co-convenors were Magdalena Wrembel (AMU), Ewa Haman (UW), Marit Westergaard (UiT), Anne Dahl (NTNU), Roumyana Slabakova (NTNU), Nina Garmann (OsloMet/ MultiLing, UiO).
The session aimed at bringing together researchers working on the following Polish-Norwegian projects:
- ADIM: Across-domain investigations in multilingualism: Modeling L3 acquisition in diverse settings (GRIEG, Norway Grants / National Science Centre NCN in Poland)
- CLIMAD: Cross-linguistic influence in multilingualism across domains: Phonology and syntax (OPUS, National Science Centre NCN in Poland)
- PolkaNorski: Polish and Norwegian language and world knowledge development in mono- and multilingual children (GRIEG, Norway Grants / National Science Centre NCN in Poland)
- StarWords: New perspectives on assessing early language development in mono- and bilingual context: a web-based interactive parental report in a longitudinal study (OPUS, National Science Centre NCN in Poland)
- NorPol: Examining factors that enhance or inhibit communication between Poles and Norwegians in workplace interaction, especially linguistic practices, communicative style, and different stereotypes of Poles and Norwegians (Research Council of Norway)
